1. Subject-Verb Agreement.

Ensure that the subject and verb agree in number. Singular subjects take singular verbs, and plural subjects take plural verbs.

  Example:

   Correct: The cat meows.

   Incorrect: The cat meow.

(he, she, it and singular subject always takes -s/es suffix)

2. Pronoun-Antecedent Agreement: Pronouns should agree with their antecedents in number, gender, and person.

     Correct: The girl lost her book.

    Incorrect: The girl lost their book.

3. Tense  consistency:- Maintain consistent verb tense throughout a sentence or paragraph, unless there's a clear shift in time.

   Example:

     Correct: I went to the store yesterday, and I bought some groceries. (If there is past in the first part of the sentence, it must be the same in the next part)

     Incorrect: I went to the store yesterday, and I buy some groceries.

4. Use of Correct form of Word.

1) Adjectives and Adverbs: Use the correct form of adjectives and adverbs. 

For example, "She is more tall" should be "She is taller."

Incorrect:- Susan gave me a real nice bouquet of flowers.(HSC Board Exam)

Correct:- Susan gave me a really nice bouquet of flowers.

2) Prepositions: Use the correct preposition.

For example, 

"I am in the school"

should be "I am at the school."

India pays tribute to Gandhiji for his birth anniversary.  (HSC Board Exam)

Should be

India pays tribute to Gandhiji on his birth anniversary.

3) Suitable Subordinating Conjunction:- 

1) I know a man which is very tall.

Should be

I know a man who is very tall. (HSC Board Exam)

2) The book where I gave you is very inspiring.

Should be

The book which I gave you is very inspiring.

5. Parallel Structure: Use parallel structure when listing items or phrases in a sentence. This means that items in a list should be in the same grammatical form.

   Example:

     Correct: She likes reading, writing, and swimming.

     Incorrect: She likes reading, writing, and to swim.

6. Apostrophe Use: Use apostrophes correctly to indicate possession or contraction. Avoid using apostrophes to form plurals.

   Example:

     Correct: The cat's tail wagged happily.

     Incorrect: The cats tail wagged happily.

7. Use of Articles (a, an, the): Use articles correctly to indicate specificity or generality

   Example:

   - Correct: He has a car.

   - Incorrect: He has car.

     Correct: He is a best student 

     Incorrect:- He is the best student.

8. Proper form of verb suitable to the tense.

She has been worked in this office since 1996.( HSC Board Exam)

Should be

She has been working in this office since 1996.

5) Error: She is very good swimmer.

✅Correction She is a very good swimmer.

6) Error: I am go to the store.

✅Correction: I am going to the store.

7) Error: They is sitting on the bench.

✅Correction: They are sitting on the bench.

8) Error: She is the best student in our class.

✅Correction: She is the best student in our class.

9) Error: I have a apple.

✅Correction: : I have an apple.

10) Error: He is a very happy now.

✅Correction: He is very happy now.

11) Error: They is playing in the garden.

✅Correction: They are playing in the garden.

12) Error: I have to go in the store.

✅Correction: I have to go to the store.

13) Error: I am go to the school.

✅Correction: I am going to the school.

14) Error: She is a very hard worker.

✅Correction: She is a very hard worker.
