✒️What is the Report?

A report is a more highly structured form of writing than an essay, and is designed so that it can be read quickly and accurately; though reports are not necessarily read from beginning to end.

✒️What is Report writing✒️

The report Writing is a brief account of an event that has already taken place. The report helps in recording the events of importance that occur in our day-to-day life. It attempts to present firsthand information about an incident or event. A report of an event presents a record of events that took place. A report of an event includes one’s ideas, opinions, and impressions about the event.

✒️Format of report writing.✒️

The report has the following elements.

✒️Headline:- Every report must have a suitable headline. The headline must be.........

  • Short. 
  • Attractive. 
  • Appropriate/suitable.
  • In bold letters.

✒️Dateline:- 
It has two important points Date and Place. That is when and where The report must have the date when the report was written. While writing the date we must keep the following points in mind.

  • The date must be based on the event. (Suitable for the event eg 6th Sept. If the report is about Teachers Day.)
  • The Place must be associated with the event/occasion.
✒️Main Report:- 
  • Use formal language to write the report.
  • Include information collected from the people around or affected by the event.
  • All the events must be in chronological order.
  • Don't use personal pronouns, that is write it as a reporter, not as a student.
  • The report must have a formal beginning, middle, and suitable conclusion.
  • Cover all the points given in the question.
  • Don't forget to write the name of the reporter.
  • Write the report in the past tense.
  • Write it in reported speech and use a passive form of expression.

AFAC Jr. College organised the expert's speech under the series of "Motivational Lectures" The session on "How to Win?" was conducted by an expert speaker who shared valuable insights on achieving success. The session was highly informative and engaging, leaving the attendees inspired and motivated.

The speaker emphasized the importance of setting clear goals and having a positive mindset. He highlighted the significance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance in achieving success. The much-awaited Annual Prize Distribution Function of our esteemed AFAC Jr. College was recently held with great fervor and enthusiasm. The event was aimed at facilitating and celebrating the academic and co-curricular achievements of our outstanding students.

Distinguished guests, faculty members, proud parents, and students gathered in the Fine Arts auditorium to witness the momentous occasion. The function commenced with an inspiring speech by the college principal, who highlighted the importance of recognizing and encouraging excellence in all spheres of education.

Various competitions, including essay writing, elocution, and painting, were organized to engage students in reflecting on the significance of Independence. Cultural programs featuring traditional dances, patriotic songs, and a drama on the freedom struggle captivated the audience. July 10, 2022, Chembur, Mumbai,
AFAC Junior College, Chembur, observed a "Health and Fitness Awareness Week" from July 2nd to July 8th, 2022. The week-long initiative was organized to promote the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being, and a balanced diet among students and staff.

The awareness week began with an enlightening seminar by Dr. Anjali Mehta, a renowned nutritionist, who emphasized the critical role of proper nutrition in maintaining overall health. She provided valuable tips on creating balanced diets and debunked common myths related to food and fitness.

Each morning during the week, yoga and meditation sessions were held in the college auditorium, led by certified instructors. These sessions were met with overwhelming participation from students and faculty alike, helping them understand the benefits of mindfulness and physical activity in reducing stress and improving concentration.

A health check-up camp was set up on campus, offering free basic health screenings such as Body Mass Index (BMI) measurements, blood pressure checks, and blood sugar tests. The screenings provided students with insights into their current health status and highlighted areas needing attention.

N.S.S. Camp Focuses on Social Work and Cleanliness.

Chembur, Mumbai, 13th December.
The N.S.S. (National Service Scheme) unit of AFAC Junior College, Chembur, organized a week-long camp from August 6th to August 12th. The camp aimed to teach students the importance of helping others and keeping our surroundings clean.

During the camp, students worked hard every day to clean up public places like roads, parks, and community areas in a nearby village. This was done to support the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and to show the villagers how important cleanliness is. Students also held workshops to teach people about managing waste, such as separating garbage and recycling.

Other activities included planting trees, running health awareness programs, and giving talks on social issues. Students spent time with the villagers, talking about the importance of hygiene, staying healthy, and getting an education.

The principal of AFAC College, Mrs. Sadhana Patil, appreciated the students’ efforts and highlighted the value of such activities in making them responsible citizens. The camp ended with a cultural program where both students and villagers celebrated together.

Mega Book Reading Competition.

Mumbai, 23rd June 2022, 
A book reading competition was organized by AFAC Junior College, Chembur, Mumbai, on 22nd June 2022. This date is celebrated as National Reading Day in India. The competition was inaugurated by the Education Inspector of North Mumbai, Mrs. Urmila Pardhey, who read from the book "Man Mai Hai Vishwas" by Vishwas Nagare Patil. It was a loud reading competition where students were required to read aloud from a book and then share a summary with their peers.

Around 150 students from the junior college participated in the competition. Books were read in three languages: Marathi, Hindi, and English. The winning criteria were based on fluency in reading and the ability to provide a precise summary of the book. The books were assigned to students at random.

The three winners received a lifetime membership to the National Library, Mumbai. They were also awarded trophies and certificates. The principal of AFAC College, Mrs. Sadhana Patil, encouraged students to read and ordered autobiographies of all great personalities for the college library. She also announced that there would be dedicated reading hours each week for every class to promote reading among students.

The vice-principal presented the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all teaching and non-teaching staff who contributed, directly or indirectly, to making the competition a grand success.
